THE Chippenham schoolboy who died on December 10 has been named as Connor Cook.
The 17-year-old was a Year 12 pupil at the town’s Abbeyfield School.
An inquest into his death opened in Salisbury yesterday (Thursday December 19) and was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
Wiltshire and Swindon assistant coroner Ian Singleton was told that Mr Cook had died at his home in Market Place, Chippenham.
His father, Gavin Cook, came home from work at 6.30pm to find his son dead.
Police and ambulance service paramedics were called but the teenager was declared dead at the scene.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Pupils at Abbeyfield School were told of the sixth former’s death the next day.
Ralph Plummer and Nick Norgrove, the school's joint heads, said: “We are all saddened by the death of one of our pupils and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.”
