A pensioner returned from a trip to find his mobility scooter had been stolen from Chippenham bus station.
The man in his 70s left the scooter – a black Middleton Pathfinder Boot – at the Timber Street bus station on November 28.
It had been parked unattended at the end of the seating area between a seat and wall while the man got onto a bus. When he returned, the scooter had gone.
The scooter had a basket on the front, small solid tyres, red front and rear mud guards, with a small headlight.
Now Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward if they can help to solve the crime.
PC Angela Holden said: “The scooter belongs to a man in his 70s who relies on it to get out and about.
"He was left extremely upset to discover it had been stolen and has had to purchase a replacement scooter to ensure he can continue getting around.
“In a separate incident on November 19, a mobility scooter was stolen from a garden in Redlands.
"We are keeping an open mind as to whether the two incidents are linked at this stage and are carrying out a number of enquiries.”
Anyone who saw the theft take place should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190118490.
