A CAR DEALERS are asking for donations of food and drink for their open boot event which will help out homeless people this Christmas.

Islington Vauxhall are currently taking in donations which will be given to Doorway, a charity in Chippenham who provide food and essential living items to the homeless.

As the festive period approaches, the charity is wanting more donations at this busy time of year.

Islington is asking for donations of tinned food such as meat, fish, vegetables, tomatoes, baked beans and fruit.

Also needed is rice, noodles, jars of cooking sauce, cereals and pasta as well as instant drinks such as hot chocolate and coffee. Toiletries are also very helpful, and essential items are preferred over luxury treats, although no aerosols are allowed.
