PART of Bath Road in Melksham is to be closed for three months in the new year.
The closure is taking place from February 10 to May 5 and will affect traffic heading into the town centre and is likely to cause delays.
A 110-metre section of the B3102 from its junction with New Broughton Road will be affected by the closure.
It will enable Wiltshire Council’s highways contractor Ringway to install new kerbs and install pedestrian barriers across Melksham Town Bridge.
The alternative route is via the unaffected section of the A3102 to Eastern Way, the Melksham Relief Road, Snowberry Lane, Spa Road to the A365 and A350 and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. Completion of the work on time will depend upon weather conditions.
The contractors plan to maintain a
access for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
