A WOMAN has been arrested for assault, theft and possession of drugs.
Police in Swindon have launched a campaign called Operation Dasher to crack down on bad behaviour in the town centre.
Jade Dent, of Yelland Walk, was charged with three counts of common assault, theft and possession of a class B drug.
The 28-year-old was picked up by officers on patrol in Fleet Street during the Operation Dasher initiative which aims to keep Swindon shoppers and businesses safe during the Christmas period.
The assault offences relate to an incident in Islington Street on November 30 where a woman was spat at and punched, and one at JD Sports in Canal Walk on December 12 where two people had a liquid – believed to be vodka – thrown over their faces.
Dent has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on February 12, 2020.
The annual seasonal operation is supported by inSwindon BID and Swindon Borough Council.
