AN ILLEGAL election poster was put up in Seend today, just metres above a polling station.
The sign which promotes Devizes Conservative candidate Danny Kruger was put up unlawfully on a telephone pole next to the Irene Usher Hall on Rusty Lane.
A Wiltshire Council spokesman said: "Campaign signs are only allowed on private property. It is illegal to put them up in public. This is called flyposting.
"It is the responsibility of the officer at the Seend polling station to take down the sign. A highway officer has also been sent out to help as the sign is very high up."
Danny Kruger is up against Lib Dem Jo Waltham, Labour's Rachael Katharine Schneider and Emma Dawnay, Green in today's general election vote.
