MOUTHWATERING recipes from The Tasty Greek in Westbury have been recognised after it was shortlisted at the British Takeaway Awards.
Owner Nikos Brachos could not believe his eyes when he discovered the popular takeaway was among the best in the South West, and now has to wait to find out if he will compete nationally to be crowned Britain's Best takeaway.
He said: "It is absolutely amazing to be shortlisted, I couldn't believe it. We are a small team, there is only me, a chef and a driver but we work very hard.
"Our speciality is Gyros, I do chicken, pork and halloumi. I have a small menu but every thing on it is special. I get all my meat and vegetables locally, and the speciality ingredients I get from Greece."I can't wait to go to the awards ceremony."
The shop opened in July 2018 and has been going from strength to strength ever since.
For half a decade the BTAs, which are run in association with Just Eat (www.just-eat.co.uk), have paid homage to the unsung heroes of the takeaway sector who work tirelessly to serve the best takeaway dishes in South West and all across Great Britain.
A winner for the South West category will be announced during the awards ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London on January 27 next year.
