FOLLOWING the success of last year's ambitious bid to produce a Bluegrass Festival worthy of its name, the organising committee set out to strengthen the trend and is now proud to present Didmarton 2007, which runs from August 31 to September 2 at Kemble airfield.
US top dogs Blue Highway , Mollie O'Brien and Rich Moore (pictured right) and Kathy Chiavola top the bill, having been persuaded to come to the UK especially for the festival.
Representing Europe are The Looping Brothers from Germany, who have been together since the 70s and present dazzling performances.
Although artists from across the Atlantic make the Bluegrass headlines, the festival is not ignoring Uk experts: spot Bakers Fabulous Boys, Monroe's Revenge, Roots and Galoots, Dalebilly, Doghouse Central, Hillbilly Hiccups and "brat pack" Miles Apart.
Olde Tyme fans are catered for by Somerset's very own Buffalo Gals, The Alligator String Band and Kitty Hawks and there's also plenty Americana, Folk and Blues in the programme, along with a superb dance programme run by resident troupe the Applejacks.
Two stages are run with Main Stage concerts Friday night, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon. The Other Stage will have concerts running concurrently but closing down when the headliners are on in Main Stage.
Stalls, clothes, food and fun all contribute to the festival atmosphere, and there is plenty of camping space.
