GLASTONBURY Festival boss Michael Eavis has sparked rumours that the festival could be held at Longleat in 2018.
The 80-year-old declared that the festival 'might move 20 miles down the road’ from Worthy Farm in two years’ time and that the event will be ‘the same size’ as it is now.
Loaded Magazine and festival news site Gigwise have both reported that the world famous event could likely be held at the Longleat estate in 2018, acting as the festival’s fallow year.
It is likely that the move will only take effect for one year, and the festival will return to its more traditional home at Pilton Farm the following year.
Glastonbury has been held at Pilton Farm since 1971, which would make the move to Longleat a ground breaking one in the festival’s illustrious history should it go ahead.
This year’s festival runs from June 22 – 26 at Pilton Farm with Muse, Adele and Coldplay headlining.
A spokesman from Longleat was unable to comment on the rumours, but did not deny them.
