WEST Wilts Ladies extended their lead at the top of the West Clubs League’s Wessex Division One to seven points as they walloped City of Bath 2 13-0 on Saturday.
With Corsham drawing at Devizes 2, West Wilts cemented their advantage at the summit with a dominant display.
Hannah Cornish netted the first, closely followed by Sharna Crowe, before Cornish added goals three and four.
A shot from Lulu Cope brought the fifth while Jess McLean got her first of her hat-trick before half time.
McLean’s second came when she roofed the ball into the top-left corner and Livie Evans snatched the eighth from a beautifully-struck penalty corner.
Cornish added two more from the right shoulder of the D, with Crowe and Evans weighing in again before McLean completed her treble with another roofed shot as the midfield of Ellie Spurrier, Millie Cornish and Katie Gibson controlled the centre of the pitch.
Corsham trailed 2-0 to Devizes 2nd before Vickie Hathway pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.
Mel Bessell levelled after the break but Devizes regained their lead.
With time running out, Bessell struck again to earn a point as Sarah Morgan was handed the player-of-the-match award on her debut.
West Wilts Ladies 3rd were in similar goalscoring form, smashing six without reply against Knowle 2 in Wessex Division Three.
Nikki Ford led the way with a hat-trick, while Abby Bennett, Sally Ford and Nicky Smith also found the net.
