WEST Wilts lead the way as the only remaining undefeated team in GoCrea8 League Conference North after clinching a 4-3 victory over Yate last weekend.
An aggressive start by the hosts at Kingsdown School saw a short corner finished by Matt Elloway.
Yate though came back into it and equalised but Wilts responded well, scoring two goals in quick succession through Craig Killminster and James Baker.
Despite leading 3-1 at half-time, Wilts were nowhere near their best and Yate punished them with a second goal.
A rattled home side gave away a short corner shortly after and from it, Yate equalised.
Pressing for the winner, Wilts earned a short corner which Will Janes slotted past the keeper five minutes from time.
- IN THE West Clubs League, West Wilts Ladies clinched a 2-0 win over Chippenham 2 in Wessex Division One.
Hannah Cornish notched the first goal with a superb strike from a penalty corner.
Despite a heavy downpour, Wilts continued to apply the pressure after the break, Jess McLean scoring the second.
In the same division, Corsham Ladies claimed a 3-0 success at Team Bath Buccaneers 4.
Carole Simpson put the visitors into the lead following a well-worked penalty corner move.
After the interval, Mel Bessell’s pinpoint cross found Vickie Hathway to bag the second.
Another piece of individual skill from Bessell saw Katherine Robinson hit the target and seal the win.
- CORSHAM 2 ran out 4-0 winners over their counterparts from Frome in Wessex Division Two.
Freya Bollen led the charge with a brace, while Joan Carpenter and Josie Hansford-Holt were also on target. Debutant Carla Reed was player of the match.
