MAYOR of Trowbridge Roger Andrews helped mark the reopening of The Longs Arms in Yarnbrook on Saturday (July 18), after the pub closed for two weeks to undergo an extensive makeover.
Work on the Hungry Horse pub began in June ahead of the doors opening again on July 15, with changes including new carpets, wallpaper and paintwork throughout to bring a fresh look back to the family-friendly local.
Meanwhile, outside the pub significant work was done in the garden, where new seating has been added so food and drink can be enjoyed in the summer sun.
Cllr Andrews joined staff to celebrate the reopening on Saturday and take a tour of the newly transformed pub, while there was also a bouncy castle and appearances from Spiderman, Super Horse and characters from Frozen.
Julie Johnston, manager of the Longs Arms, said: “I would like to thank the Mayor for agreeing to come down and help us celebrate our reopening.
“The pub was in need of a bit of a refresh and the makeover was just the job. The difference it has made is amazing. Customers can meet for breakfast, lunch and an evening meal all in fresh, bright and friendly surroundings.
“I think people will be surprised by all the changes we have made, but they will have to come down and see for themselves.”
