TROWBRIDGE-based firm White Horse Employment Network is celebrating after scooping the prize for Small Business of the Year at the Wiltshire Business Awards for the second year running.

The company, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013, has spent the last quarter of a century placing thousands of jobseekers and providing commercial and professional recruitment solutions to employers.

White Horse Employment, which is situated in Fore Street, was formed in 1988 and was taken over by managing director Beverley Glover in 1999.

It offers a complete employment and recruitment solution for jobseekers and hirers, from SMEs to multi nationals, serving clients throughout Wiltshire, Somerset and beyond.

The judges for the award, which was sponsored by Forward Swindon, said: "After winning this award last year, Beverley has gone on to hire a business coach to improve further and added new team members to strengthen the offer and committment to clients.

"Loved by their customers and clients alike, the work giving back to charity, to the local community and industry is awe inspiring on its own, let along alongside such a strong business."

White Horse Employment beat off competition from Swindon engineering firm Method Consulting LLP, Malmesbury company Perfection Health & Beauty and Chippenham’s John Williams Heating Services to take home the award.

Managing director of White Horse Employment Beverley Glover said: "I was absolutely blown away to receive the award. We were not expecting it as we thought no one wins two years in a row.

"It was a complete surprise and while it was great to win it last year, it is almost better winning it again this year, especially when you see the fantastic companies that we were up against.

"It is always a very strong category, but to win the award is an honour. We have a fantastic team who have made this possible and many of them have been with us for a long time.

"We have been expanding and we have also taken on some new people, but it is always important that we find people that the same philosophy as us."

The 2014 Wiltshire Business Awards, which took place at Center Parcs Longleat, featured six other categories, including Business Person of the Year, Apprenticeship Employer, Customer and Staff Care, Medium Sized Enterprise, Environmental and Services to the Community.

Winners in each category gained automatic entry into the night’s most prestigious award – the Overall Excellence Award – which was sponsored by Thrings, a long-time partner of the event.
