A charity pool match between past and present Wiltshire County Pool team players tomorrow will raise money for Trowbridge Stepping Stones.
The event, from 12.30pm at The Black Pearl in Church Street, Trowbridge, will see former Wiltshire County Pool players reunite to face the current team in a one-off challenge.
Players will each pay £3 to take part and there will be a raffle with prizes such as a meal voucher for The Longs Arms at Yarnbrook, a free night of pool with pizza for two at The Royal Sports Bar in Chippenham and more.
Russ Matthews, who is organising the event with Tammy Newbury at The Black Pearl, said: “There has been a lot of interest, especially from past players, and it will almost be like a reunion.
“Tammy suggested that we do something for Stepping Stones as they are a local charity and it’s a worthwhile cause. Everyone is really looking forward to it.”
Stepping Stones, helps children in west Wiltshire with learning difficulties and disabilities from Wiltshire.
Stepping Stones, which serves children in west Wiltshire with learning difficulties and disabilities, lost £10,000 of funding from Wiltshire Council in February, after central government withdrew its Aiming High For Disabled Children grants.
This left the centre needing to raise a total of £50,000 a year and prompted the Wiltshire Times to launch a campaign to make up the shortfall.
