A new play area could open in Bowerhill in time for the school summer holidays.
Plans for a multi-use games area, with a fenced all-weather sports pitch featuring basketball nets and five-a-side goals, have been submitted for approval by Melksham Without Parish Council.
It would be built on public land off Hornchurch Road, financed from a £32,500 community fund provided by developer Pers-immon Homes and the council’s reserves.
If approved, building work on the games area is expected to start immediately, so it is ready for use by the time the schools break up in July.
