The body of a dog has been dug up from the garden of a house in Trowbridge with the RSPCA investigating a claim of animal cruelty.
The 10-year-old dog, which died last month, was excavated from an address at Woolpack Meadows last week.
RSPCA inspector Miranda Albinson said: “We are investigating an allegation of a dog being hanged at the property and we have removed the body of the dog from the garden.
“We will be carrying out investigations to see whether we need to pursue a conviction. We can’t say any more at this stage of the investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RSPCA by calling 0300 1234 999.
