Holt Superstore owner Harry Rai is delighted the village has retained its Post Office after it relocated to the store this week.
The Post Office closed in The Common on Tuesday and reopened at Holt Superstore in The Street on Wednesday.
From March 31 the Post Office will be open Monday- Friday 6am-8.30pm, Saturday 7am-8.30pm and Sunday from 8am-8.30pm. Until then the opening hours are 9am-5pm.
Mr Rai, whose family has run the store for 28 years, said: “We are really pleased it has stayed in the village and the longer hours will benefit a lot of people.
“With Holt, it is essential to have the Post Office in the village. A lot of the buses have stopped and we have an elderly demographic.”
Two new members of staff have been employed and services will be carried out at the Post Office serving point at the retail counter.
