Parents and grandparents picked up paintbrushes to help transform five rooms at Winsley Primary School for Make a Difference Day on Saturday.
The 25-strong group, which included staff, painted three classrooms, the library and the IT suite and a team of five people from Barclays Bank in Trowbridge turned a resource cupboard into a working space for teachers and small groups of pupils.
The PTA provided refreshments and volunteers looked after the children, involving them in sports and games.
Headteacher Becky Wilson said: “We are hugely grateful. There was a really nice atmosphere and it felt like a real community event. We gained an extra room thanks to Barclays.
“This has freed up money for us to spend on the children, rather than having to spend it on painters.”
