Holt Primary School has sped into first place in the South West region of this year’s Big Pedal competition.
This is the third year the 149-pupil school has triumphed in the regional round of the inter-school competition.
They came seventh out of 188 in the national small primary schools table and will be rewarded with a bike stunt show and workshop.
The competition encourages children, teachers and parents to choose two wheels for their school journeys. The more people who scoot and cycle to school the more points the school wins.
Head Margaret Harnden said: “The children are very environmentally aware.”
Other primary schools which took part included Aloeric Primary School in Melksham, The Mead in Hilperton, and Walwayne Court in Trowbridge.
