The choir at Springmead School, Beckington, took the winners’ cup in the Roundabout class in the recent Mid Somerset Festival.
As this was the choir’s first visit to the Mid-Somerset, everyone was a little nervous and not sure what to expect. They sang two songs without accompaniment and in complex rounds, Across the Fields and This Old Man.
The adjudicator was extremely impressed and said that the final song hypnotised the audience, awarding the children a distinction. Choir director Mrs Miller and all the singers were delighted with their success.
