Police in Melksham are continuing to target beggars in the High Street, after a series of complaints from shoppers.
A 19-year-old man was arrested under the Vagrancy Act in January, and the issue has now been made a priority by the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Beat Manager PC Kane Fulbrook-Smith said: “Members of the public and local businesses should not be subjected to pestering and loitering behaviour from certain individuals, and as such robust and positive action will be taken against them.
"This sort of behaviour also falls within the realms of anti social behaviour and NPT urge the public to report any incidents they may have witnessed and been subject of.”
Anyone who experiences any problems can call 101, or 999 if they are subjected to threatening behaviour.
