The stars of Warminster’s amateur production of Calen-dar Girls have presented a cheque for £5,500 to Dorothy House Hospice Care, following the huge success of their show and charity calendar.
P & R Productions was set up especially by members of the Athenaeum Players to put on the production, after seeing that the rights to the stage show had been made available for 18 months.
The cast recreated the original calendar to help raise more funds for the charity and promote the production, before performing four shows at Warminster Athenaeum at the start of January.
Dorothy House fundraiser Yvonne Brunton accepted the cheque from the cast on March 7. She also showed them around the facilities and gave a talk about where the money would be going.
Andrea Pearce, who produced the calendar and co-produced the show with Jim Read, said: “It was really nice seeing what Dorothy House do and knowing that the money is really going to make a difference.”
