Residents at Wiltshire Heights Care Home were treated to a talk by BBC Springwatch presenter Chris Packham last Thursday.
They were joined by community groups from the town and watched as Chris shared his knowledge during his presentation called Birds of the British Isles, with a projector to show the species he was talking about.
It was followed by a question and answer session and light lunch.
Selvie Naidoo, home manager, said: “We had about 70 people listening to Chris. It was very well attended.
“He said he sometimes waits two to three hours to get the right picture.
“He encouraged people to keep watching birds and record what they see.”
