Rode Parish Council will conduct its own survey, to show First Bus UK how many people use a service the company will cut from next month.
First Bus said changes to the 267 route were being made because the demand in Rode was low.
The parish council met company representatives last Friday, to see if it could be reinstated.
Council chairman Steve Eyles said: “We will monitor who gets on and off the bus at Rode at key times and will present the findings to First Bus.”
First Bus UK will meet councillors and villagers to receive the findings on April 7, at Rode Memorial Hall, from 7pm.
