CHILDREN and staff from the Mead Community Primary School are celebrating being ranked outstanding by Ofsted for the third time in a row.
The academy, which has sites in Hilperton and Wingfield, was visited by assessors last month.
The report praises the progress of the 505 pupils at both sites as well as their behaviour and happiness, highlighting the support they get from their teachers and the leadership of headteacher Lyssy Bolton.
She said: “We are delighted to be ranked outstanding again. We make sure our children are happy and safe, providing innovative teaching.”
Ofsted has also commended the Mead’s work in the community and work it does with other schools.
Mel Jacob, chairman of the school’s governing body, said: “What happens here doesn’t come together by magic, we have challenges the same as every other school, but it is our attention to detail that makes the Mead special.
“Since we were founded by Lyssy 13 years ago we have continued to progress. The staff do all they can to maintain and surpass the superb standards.”
The repeated outstanding rating comes at an exciting time for the academy, which is opening a new primary school in Green Lane, Hilperton, in September.
The academy, which will be called Castle Mead School, is currently recruiting staff and enrolling pupils. To see the Ofsted report, visit www.ofsted. gov.uk and to find out about becoming a governor at Castle Mead School call 01225 759273.
