Jobseekers in Melksham got a welcome boost last Saturday, as employers and universities came together for the first ‘Opportunity Melksham’ jobs fair.
The event, at the Assembly Hall, was organised by the Melksham Extended Services charity, and was attended by firms from the town and beyond.
Richard Bebb, partner at Goughs Solicitors, which has six branches across Wiltshire, said: “We spoke to a lot of people ranging from teenagers in school to one chap who was a retired solicitor and was interested in seeing whether there were any opportunities for someone looking to re-enter the profession. It was definitely a very worthwhile event.”
Around 300 people attended over the day, and chair of Extended Services Jon Hubbard said: “I am aware of several people there who have got interviews this week. We were really pleased.”
