A music project to celebrate Trowbridge’s multicultural community was launched on Thursday.
Building Bridges: The Trowbridge Song Project, is a two year scheme funded by Arts Council England and wants to bring together people in the town to form choirs and music groups.
It opened with a performance by Sounding It Out choir, at County Hall, which is supporting the project.
Liz Lavender, project manager, said: “Since the launch we’ve had a lot of interest from people who’d like to be a part of it.
“We want to celebrate how diverse Trowbridge is and welcome people who have moved here.”
New groups will perform at a number of venues. It will end with a concert at the Wiltshire Music Centre, in Bradford on Avon.
An exhibition will also be held at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Cocklebury Road, Chippenham.
