Andy Packer, John of Gaunt’s headteacher, is delighted that the Trowbridge school has received a good rating from Ofsted after being told improvements were needed last year.
Their latest Ofsted report praises the standard of teaching, pupil achievement and its leadership following an inspection earlier this month.
Mr Packer said: “The whole school is delighted to have gained a good Ofsted especially given how high they have raised the bar across the board.”
Last year, John of Gaunt was told that it needed to improve following an inspection by the body - a decision that Mr Packer described as an injustice.
In follow-up monitoring visits by Ofsted the school was told it was operating at a good level.
