Two vans brimming with clothes, bedding, homeware and toys have been taken to Somerset’s flood victims following a donation in Bratton.
Simone Brown oversaw the appeal, in aid of those who have suffered following the severe winter rainfall, with the items being taken to a relief warehouse near Bridgwater to be sorted.
Mrs Brown, a deputy manager for Candlelight Care, in Trowbridge, said: “I was overwhelmed at the response. People came from far and wide to donate. It was very emotional and exhausting, but well worth it.”
Mrs Brown’s appeal received donations from residents and businesses including Asda and Marks & Spencer.
