A retired Trowbridge rector has released a book of reflections to help fund roof repairs at St John’s Church Hall in Upper Studley.
Canon Christopher Brown, 69, was rector at St James’ Church, Trow- bridge from 1988 to 2009. During a sabbatical in 2002, he wrote down some thoughts, now produced in a booklet called A Time to Laugh – Reflections, recollections and laughter.
The church hall roof started leaking in January. Fundraising for the £25-30,000 repairs started immediately.
Canon Brown’s effort has realised £150 so far. The fundraising was boosted this week with a £10,000 grant from The Hills Group through the Landfill Communities Fund. He will sell and sign copies of his booklet from 11am at St John’s on Sunday.
