Dozens of people flocked to the opening of Dorothy House’s new Trowbridge furniture shop on Tuesday.
Following the success of similar stores in Melksham, Chippenham and Bath, the Winsley-based hospice has taken over the former Blockbuster unit in Wicker Hill next door to the charity’s clearance store. It sells tables, sofas and gym equipment, DVDs, CDs, clothing and ornaments.
Dorothy House trustee Catherine Chambers, who cut the ribbon at the shop opening, said: “It is so great to see so many people down supporting us and we are really pleased with the new store.”
Liz Brown, the charity’s chief executive, attended.
She said: “We are lucky that we have a great team but we are also always happy to welcome more volunteers.”
