Children at Bitham Brook Primary School in Westbury recently held a medieval day.
All the children in two classes dressed up as knights, lords and ladies and took part in learning activities including jousting, medieval dancing, archery and making and decorating medieval purses.
The children also cooked and shared a banquet, with authentic medieval food.
The day culminated in a ‘dubbing’ ceremony, during which the children promised to always do their best to be good, truthful and to defend the weak and were knighted by Lady Roff.
Lady Roff (aka teacher Mrs Rolf) said, “The children really entered into the day with great enthusiasm and commitment.
“They were real knights and ladies for the day and learned so much.”
