Pupils at Churchfields The Village School in Atworth were all for the high jump when they were visited by Trowbridge-based Commonwealth athlete Robert Mitchell.
The personal trainer, who starred at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006, set the 141 children at the school a series of exercise challenges two weeks ago.
On his return last Wednesday, he put them through their paces to see how well they had done. and gave them fitness tips PE co-ordinator and Year 1 and 2 teacher Louise Pugh said: “We raised £1,888.79 in sponsorship which will be split between the school and Sports For You North, the charity he works with.”
