Former England International and Southampton football legend Matt Le Tissier gave a fascinating insight into his career in the game at the Prestbury Sports Bar in Warminster on Sunday.
The Guernsey-born footballer and current Sky Sports television presenter was the latest high profile sports star to make a special appearance at the venue, which was completely sold out for the event.
Fellow Sky Sports pundit Phil Thompson was at the bar in October last year, while other guests have included Lee Sharpe, Neil “Razor” Ruddock, Gordon Banks and Nobby Stiles.
Le Tissier’s career saw him make it into the record books as the first midfielder to score 100 goals in the Premier League and he was branded “Le God” by Southampton fans.
Pete Bartley, co-owner of Prestbury Sports Bar, said: “It was absolutely brilliant and he was by far our most popular celebrity speaker. It was sold out and we had about 130 people come along.
“He was fantastic and very funny. He spoke about his career in football and he also told us some great stories about working with Phil Thompson and Paul Merson on Sky Sports.
“Everyone really enjoyed themselves and because we are quite a small venue it allowed Matt to chat to almost everyone throughout the evening.
"He was also happy to sign autographs and answer any questions.”
