Children from Bradford on Avon and beyond will be donning their lab coats to take part in the annual My Science Fair on Sunday.
The event, in its third year, will take place at the Wiltshire Music Centre from 10am-4pm and will see 87 pupils, from Year One to Six, display and demonstrate projects they have been working on for the past few months.
They had to come up with their own question to investigate and construct a prediction of the results before doing the experiment and will be judged to be in with a chance of winning prizes including a Kindle and LeapPad.
Organiser Anastasia Thomas, of Staverton, started the event at Winsley Primary School, where her two daughters attend, because she wanted more local science and technology events.
It has since expanded with more schools getting involved and this year schools in Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Bath and Winsley are taking part.
Mrs Thomas said: “Children need something that is interesting, fun and a great experience, whether they decide to go into science or not, and this teaches them so many different skills.”
Professors from Bath University will also be on hand with demonstrations and workshops for members of the public as well as a musical performance from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The free event is open to members of the public.
