A man who is accused of raping a girl aged under twice has been released on bail by a judge.
Kevin Poole, 49, is said to have committed the sex offences on a child under 16 between 2002 and late 2005.
No charges were formally put to Poole and he did not enter any pleas during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday, May 9, and released Poole, of Ramsbury Walk, Trowbridge, on conditional bail.
He told him he must not have contact with anyone under 16, save for two named boys, and must not contact witnesses or go to a specific address in the town.
