Families and businesses are encouraged to have a flipping good time by taking part in Trowbridge’s Shrove Tuesday pancake races.
The annual event, organised by Trowbridge Town Council, will take place in Fore Street on March 4 with entrants having to flip foam pancakes along the course.
The first race begins at 10.30am with registration closing at 10am. There are four categories to enter which include teams for men, women, children and a relay which requires a team of four.
Maryrose Mantle, the town council’s community development officer, said: “We always have lots of really good fun and the event grows in the community year after year.
“We’d be delighted to see people come down in all sorts of costumes to make it as enjoyable as possible.”
Each entrant will receive a certificate while there will be trophies for those who win the four categories.
The awards will be given out by Trowbridge mayor David Halik and town crier Trevor Heeks will be on hand to entertain the crowd expected.
Mrs Mantle said: “We’ve had some great support from local businesses over the years who have taken part in the relay, but anyone in a team is also welcome to enter one of the other categories as well.”
The “more the merrier” were welcome to make it a great day, she added.
