Hundreds gathered for the 15th annual canalside carol service at Dundas Wharf on Saturday.
Sue and Andy Smith of Canal Ministries and the Trowbridge band of the Salvation Army led the carol service.
Canal boats were decorated with Christmas lights and tinsel as people gathered to sing at the canal side near Brassknocker Basin.
Peter Atwill, the organiser of the event who is stepping down this year, said: “The whole thing was lit up by candlelight as the electric failed, so people used the light to sing from their carol sheets.
“It was a great atmosphere.”
