DISAPPOINTMENT for some theatre fans means a chance for more to see another show at Bath's Theatre Royal this spring, as Fallen Angels, Noël Coward’s sparkling comedy classic starring Jenny Seagrove and Sara Crowe, will now play for another week in February following the cancellation of the national tour of Chariots of Fire.
The theatre has extended the run of Fallen Angels for an additional week in the 2014 Spring Season, and is hoping theatregoers who were not able to get seats first time round, as the show has been booking well, will be able to make the extra dates.
Performances in Bath will now run for two weeks starting on Monday, February 17, and ending on Saturday, March 1, with no show on Monday, February 24.
The week-long run of Chariots of Fire, the stage version of the oscar-winning film, due to be staged from February 24 has been cancelled due to the postponement of the whole UK tour. The production company issued a statement this week, saying: “It is with regret that we are having to postpone the 2014 tour of Chariots of Fire until the following year, mainly due to the size and nature of the production being re-formatted for the road.”
The Theatre Royal is contacting all ticket holders for the Bath tour dates of Chariots of Fire to offer either a refund or an exchange. Tickets for the additional performances of Fallen Angels are on sale now. If you have tickets for Chariots, or would like to book for the Coward show, contact the box office on 01225 448844.
