The Minster Church in Warminster launched its Messy Nativity Advent Sheep Trail last Friday with a procession.
The event invites people to spot knitted sheep in shop windows and runs until December 21, with a prize draw on December 24 at the Minster Church’s Crib service.
Bishop of Ramsbury Edward Condry, Warmin-ster town crier Phil Seddon and mayor Paul Batchelor joined 50 pupils from Minster Church of England Primary School to launch the trail.
Starting from the school, the procession headed to the Three Horseshoes Mall for carols and a blessing of the sheep.
Organiser the Rev Carole Owen said: “It’s about getting the Christmas message across to children. My parishioners have been knitting the sheep since July.”
