Villagers in Steeple Ashton will be lighting up their Christmas tree on the Village Green a little earlier this year.
Every year the ceremony of lights, carols, mince pies and Santa, is held on December 16, but this year the date has been brought forward by two days.
Resident Rosemary Brett-Green said: “This year we have discovered that there is just so much going on in and around the village on the 16th that Father Christmas just won’t be able to fit it all in.”
The ceremony will start at 6pm on Saturday, December 14.
