Warminster’s Gurkha community has raised £1,100 for Help for Heroes, by holding a curry lunch at the district Conservative Club.
The lunch, on November 23, was attended by 150 guests to support the charity, which helps members of the Armed Forces wounded in service.
Gurkha chefs with the Warminster-based 1st Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment were able to demonstrate their skills by preparing a variety of authentic Gurkha curries.
A raffle, with many Gurkha wives donating prizes, raised £228.
Organiser Dharma Gurung said: “We wanted to give something back to the community and raise some money for a worthy cause, especially as Warminster has strong links with the Army.”
