Schoolboy Alfie Waker met celebrities such as Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden and X Factor judge Amanda Holden at the first Animal Hero Awards in London last Thursday.
The nine-year-old, who lives in Westbury with mum Hayley and dad Martin, was nominated for Young Animal Enthusiast of the Year, following his fundraising work for HorseWorld.
Despite not winning the award, the Bratton Primary School pupil also enjoyed meeting adventurer Ben Fogle and Daybreak presenter Kate Garraway.
Alfie started fundraising for the horse rescue charity to help his best friend Tom, a retired Wadworth shire horse.
In May, he cycled 35 miles from Wadworth Brewery in Devizes to HorseWorld at Stockwood, Bristol.
Dad Martin said: “We are so proud.”
