Chapmanslade Primary School installed a new £6,000 play trail for pupils in the school playing field recently, after a year of fundraising and a donation from The Fudge Trust in Warminster.
The school’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association held fundraising events throughout the year towards the play trail, including school discos and fêtes, as well as a pub night and Mother's and Father's Day gift shops.
The Fudge Trust, which makes grants to individuals and groups in the town who apply for help, then donated £2,500 towards the 32m-long trail, which meant that it could be installed in September.
Headteacher Berkeley Basinger-Adams said: “All the children are thrilled with our brand new play trail and regularly enjoy the challenges and opportunities for creative play that the play trail provides.
“It is wonderful to see the children at playtimes supporting each other with the challenges and developing their co-operation and social skills, whilst having great fun together.
“The school PTFA would like to thank The Fudge Trust for adding to the funds, without its generosity the children would have been waiting a lot longer for their equipment.”
