Melksham Oak School has been recognised as a leading teacher training school, receiving elite status from a national body.
The school has been awarded training school status by the Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme, which aims to help pupils gain independent learning skills.
Assistant headteacher Aidan Blowers said: “We have been attached to the programme for three years and the award of TEEP training school status is a huge deal for the school.
“When you link this to our ‘Good’ OFSTED last year, and the recognition we received of being in the 20 per cent most improving schools nationally, Melksham Oak is really flying.”
