Matravers School launched its new Able, Gifted and Talented programme across the school last week, which is aimed at ensuring every student is fully challenged to fulfil their potential.
The programme has already begun, with identified students being presented with their badges that they proudly wear around school.
Activities and workshops will take place throughout the year and there will be a close monitoring of students to ensure that there is progress.
Headteacher Simon Riding said: “I have been amazed at the quality and quantity of gifts and talents on show at Matravers since I started, whether that is at local or national level.
“It was vitally important for us to recognise this and our newly launched programme will ensure that students are challenged to go on to be the future stars in whichever arena they excel.
“The recent support programme to help the number of Oxbridge applications from the Sixth Form has been a real highlight. It’s a pleasure to be part of a school community where it is alright to be bright, successful and achieve.”
