A Trowbridge man, who is facing a charge of rape, has been released on bail.
Matthew Thorpe appeared at Swindon Crown Court last Thursday on the single allegation.
It is said the 21-year-old, of Islington, Trowbridge, committed the offence on Sunday, May 5 this year.
No charge was formally put to Thorpe and he did not enter a plea during the brief hearing.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday, January 31 and released him on unconditional bail until then.
