A Trowbridge volunteer group which helps people in financial crisis is looking for more volunteers.
Community Money Advice Trowbridge is a group which offers free advice about dealing with debt as well as money management help.
The Christian group, which launched two-years-ago and is based in the United Church Buildings, Church Street, hope to grow bigger with the addition of more people with expertise.
Susie Shaw, centre manager, said: “We aim to look help those people who have got themselves into a financial muddle.”
Community Money Advice Trowbridge meets at their offices all day every Monday and each Wednesday morning while volunteers also make appointments to visit clients at their homes at other times during the week (Monday to Friday).
Currently, they have 20 volunteers and 55 clients, with a website in development.
Miss Shaw said: “We are always looking for volunteers and if we manage to get more we’ll be able to open our office throughout the week and take on more clients.”
On Tuesday, the group, formerly known as Hope Debt Advice Trowbridge, held an open event at their base which was supported by the town’s mayor David Halik.
Miss Shaw said: “It was a very successful day and it was a way of helping us raise awareness of the group and the support we can offer. Thanks to the positive feedback we received it is something we’d definitely look at doing again in the future.”
