Wiltshire Police received almost 1,500 applications during its latest recruitment drive.

The window for the latest recruitment of police officers is now closed and a police spokesman said there was an exceptionally high level of interest, with over 1,450 applicants successfully completing the online pre-assessment tool.

The latest recruitment campaign opened at 10am on Tuesday, November 12 and closed at 10am today.

Following an earlier recruitment drive in January, the force is now looking to recruit police officers to create a pool of applicants from which to fill a number of future intakes, with a view to successful candidates commencing work for Wiltshire Police from mid-2014 onwards
