AMATEUR dramatic group P & R Productions laun-ched its charity calendar at St John’s School Hall in Warminster last Friday to promote its upcoming production of Calendar Girls.

The Warminster group decided to put on a production of Calendar Girls at the start of 2014, after seeing that the rights to the stage show had been made available for 18 months.

Due to the busy schedule of the Athenaeum Lime-light Players, members of the players set up P & R Productions to put on the show, with all proceeds going towards Dorothy House Hospice.

The cast also recreated the original calendar to help raise more funds for the charity and promote the production.

Andrea Pearce, who produced the calendar and co-produced the show with Jim Read, said: “Dorothy House is an important cause for us as we’ve both lost someone to cancer.

“We have been so lucky with the people who auditioned as some had never acted before but you wouldn’t know from watching them.

“My biggest challenge was the calendar, but the cast have all been completely up for it and we were fortunate to have original calendar girl Tricia Stewart send through a copy of the shoot they did.”

Calendars are available from the Warminster Athe-naeum, The Organ Inn and Warminster Information Centre for £10 each.

The show will be staged at the Athenaeum on January 9, 10 and 11 at 7.30pm, with a matinee performance at 2.30pm on January 11.
